The new admin scripts are nearing completion, just so everyone knows. The plan is to eventually get the base package I'm working on up and running completely (and that is about 95% done right now), and then modding them out specifically for this site. Once that happens, it should be a snap to add new people to help work on the site. Essentially it means that it won't just be lonely, lazy, little old me. I'll post more information once it becomes available.

Also, in case no-one noticed, which I find to be a little bit impossible, HL2 came out a few weeks ago, and HL2DM just came out today, along with the full SDK. Which also means me actually caring about reviewing again! I'm not going to promise anything quite yet, but with any luck I'll be able to nab some new reviewers specifically for HL2. But that also relies on me completing the admin scripts. So anyways, I'll stop rambling. Ta.

Ok, finally un-lazied myself and ported over to the newer version. There are still several holes in things, but the bulk of it is here. As usual, please send any bug reports to alex@evanville.com, and we'll get working on it ASAP. Also, if you have any suggestions, we'd love to hear 'em! Send those to the same address as above. Later.

Hey all, Monqui here. Just an update- I'm working on finalizing the new version of the website, and it's going quite slowly, obviously. But, I'm adding in a new addition right now that will essentially throw in loads of not-really-real reviews, so don't get alarmed or anything. This version of the site just can't handle 'em being there, but the new one will parse them out just fine. So, OK then. Moving on in life.

Oh, and if you want to view the new page in all its incomplete glory, check out this link. Any suggestions are welcome at this point, but please don't submit any bugs/oddities just yet. Because it's still incomplete. And all that.

Oh, and thanks for bearing with us during this nasty ass lull, but I can say with some confidence that things should perhaps mabye pick up once HL2 gets released. Until then, things should be rather sluggish. So yay. Later.

Ok- here's the status report update thingy. First, Nick went ahead and put in a review from Sim, and you can check it out here. Big thanks to him for writing that.

And, as the last "update" mentioned, the new site is coming along rather nicely. I'd say that the Maps and News sections are pretty much done- I just need to do a bit of polishing/linking on them before I decide I want them to go "live." I'm shooting for having it out later next week (hopfully by the weekend before I head out of state).

I heard some bitching about the lack of reviews. so pick a map and review it for us.

So what do you have to do?
  • Pick a map out of the TBR.
  • Get two(2) images of the map
  • Write the review(with the Scoring,size,fun..)
  • Email us the review and the images to and only to iwantreviews@hlatlas.com.

Oh ya we hold the right to use and/or not use any reviews..

If you need help with the scoring system click HERE

Me laeve einythung oot??

Oh, and if anyone does submit something, please send it with a subject of "Map Review" or something, just to make it easier for me to pick out of my inbox.

Note to self- never tell Nick that he smells like cabbage (even though it's so true).

Also, just so you all don't get *too* pissed off at me for being a total lazy bastard, I'm in the middle of pretty much doing a complete overhaul on the website... Trying to streamline it down, make it easier to navigate, and give the average user (that's you!) more control/options/ability to voice opinions/whatever. It's a long process, but hey- this is my hobby, it's not like I'm getting paid for doing the work :/
